Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland earns highest possible rating from charity evaluator

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

This is the fifth consecutive year BGCC has earned this rating, a distinction earned by only 8 percent of the U.S. nonprofits evaluated by Charity Navigator. The evaluator uses objective analysis to award only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating.

“It’s important our donors trust that we’re using their donations wisely to accomplish our mission – inspiring and enabling the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” said BGCC President and CEO Ron Soeder.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland provides safe, fun places for kids after school at 15 locations in Cleveland, Cleveland Heights and East Cleveland. In 2016, the Clubs served more than 7,000 kids, emphasizing healthy lifestyles, academic success and character and citizenship.

Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, said Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland’s top rating “sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public. Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland.”
