Volunteer

BGCC is proud of the high quality programs and services that we offer our members. This wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteers who give their time and talents to our members every day.

If you’re sincerely interested in inspiring, motivating and improving young lives, we’d love to have you join our team as a volunteer! Here are some of the volunteer opportunities that are available right now:

  • Tutoring
  • Mentor opportunities
  • Coaching and refereeing
  • Character development and life skills coaches (for Passport to Manhood and SMART Girls)

Before you can become a volunteer, it’s required that you first attend formal volunteer orientation training, offered monthly or more often if needed.

Please contact Cindy Newton, Community Engagement Coordinator at 216-883-2106, ext. 228, or, cnewton@clevekids.org to reserve your preferred date for volunteer orientation training.

• Volunteer application forms will be distributed at the Volunteer Orientation Training.

• All volunteers must submit to a background check which requires a fee of $10.00, payable at time of submission, by cash or check. A credit card payment can also be made by going to www.clevekids.org.

Click on the link for “Invest in our Kids” and where it indicates a $10 donation, fill out the information and scroll to the bottom of the list and indicate “Background Check Payment.”

• Interviews for placement will be scheduled following Volunteer Orientation Training; when your background check comes back as cleared and application forms are complete. The Community Engagement Coordinator will contact you to schedule the interview.
