Stephanie has been a Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland member since age 6. She was a stand-out early on as she took a leadership role in the Torch Club and started her own small business to help the club collect recyclables. As a businesswoman, she traded recyclable cans for cupcakes. Stephanie overcame many challenges that threatened to throw her off track. She suffered the loss of her best friend, grandmother and father within a 2 year period. She dodged the bullets that often characterize life in the inner-city. At the club, she found affection, loyalty and guidance. She found the support of a family. Stephanie has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout her career at Cleveland Central Catholic High School. Upon graduation, Stephanie looks forward to pursuit of higher education. She has now only to choose between the remarkable Universities that have chosen her. She dreams of becoming a “Superhero Neonatal Nurse.” We are proud to say that our 2012 Youth of the Year is exemplary of our mission at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland. She has proven productivity and responsibility with a caring heart. We know that she will continue to do so for years to come.
