Na’daja S.
Na’daja S. has been a member of the Mt. Pleasant Boys and Girls Clubs for 3 years. She is one of the most dependable and reliable members, and she is always ready to help wherever needed. She has experience assisting in every department of the club, and she is highly respected amongst her peers, and younger members. Na’daja has been very active in all club activities, and is at the forefront amongst our youth leaders.
Very intelligent and a merit roll student, Na’daja still finds the time to work hard afterschool in sports. Na’daja volunteers her time in the clubs, and at school as a tutor for 5th and 6th grade students. Na’daja has competed out of state four times in the King of the Ring competition and has won the championship all four times. She is a master of Sparring, Katas, Free hand, and Shadow Sparring. Her achievements have also been recognized by her earning a purple belt.
Being a martial artist has taught Na’daja the value of hard work and discipline. You can always find Na’daja working hard whether it is in the gym practicing, or the computer lab typing away on a research paper. A performer in the making, Na’daja is a superior vocalist and teaches dance lessons to her peers in her spare time. Na’daja goal in life is to become a WNBA basketball coach. She is an 8th grader at Charles Dickens School, and she is looking forward to going to John Hay High School's Early College next year. Her goals are set on attending a university out of state, and she is well on her way to achieving that goal. Participating in smart girls has helped Na’daja to set goals, and strive for higher and higher standards. It is easy to be average, but Na’daja won’t settle for just that. She won’t stop until she has exceeded all expectations! Na’daja is GREAT!
