Girl’s learning power boosted by your generosity

Kayla, 9, was struggling in the classroom.

“I couldn’t spell, and my math was just OK,” she says.

Kayla got the help she needed at Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland. During Power Hour – the time right after school during which each Club member must do homework – she sharpened her mathematics skills. In addition, she became one of the stars of the Broadway Club’s Ready Readers Plus program, which uses games and one-on-one attention to improve literacy skills and engage families.

Kayla, a shy girl with a sweet smile, also opened up and made new friends. On any given day, you’ll find her reading, playing in the gym or even fishing with her pals in the Footpath Nature Club.

Your support makes a huge difference to Kayla and the approximately 1,000 other kids who attend our Clubs each day. We rely on the generosity individual donors like you to help the kids who need us most and turn uncertain futures into great ones. Without it, many could fall through the cracks.
