Jobs, pizza on agenda at March 3 open house

You can grab a slice of pizza and learn more about a new workforce development program for teens when Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland holds a career-builder open house from 6-7:30 p.m. March 3.
The event is at BGCC’s Broadway Club, 6114 Broadway Ave., Cleveland.
The program is open to all high school students and their parents. BGCC, which provides safe, fun after-school activities for kids at 14 locations, will introduce its workforce program, which is aimed at teens who are seeking careers that do not necessarily require a college education. Program and company representatives will be on hand to answer questions about different career fields.
The program is focused on introducing the many career fields available and assisting students in preparing for and finding jobs in the field of their choice.
Club alumna Shyanne Beard, who now works for Towlift, will also be talking about how the Boys & Girls Club experience can be used as a springboard to getting a job.
