Thanks to everyone who turned out for last night's Aspire! gala at the St. George Fellowship Centre in Fairlawn. All proceeds from this event will benefit our kids. It was the first time since 2019 that the event was held in person. Highlights included appearances by 2021 Ohio Boys & Girls Clubs Youth of the Year Abrianna Johnson and 2022 BGCNEO Youth of the Year Nevaeh Richardson as well as performances by kids in our Opening Track music program. Broadway Club members recently took part in Reality Store, a Charles Schwab program in which teens get a chance to practice their financial decision-making skills during a fun and engaging event. The game promotes fiscal responsibility by showing players how every financial decision impacts their future. The teens had an amazing time and were very engaged in the activities, which prompt members to make financial choices about food, housing, transportation, childcare and other expenses based on available income. “I truly underestimated the amount of bills you take care of during adulthood,” said Club member Ramone. Another participant, Anya, said, “I am going to really keep my head in the books.” Jayla, another teen, said, “This field trip changed my perspective about college.” ... See MoreSee Less
